Sure thing, okay, first idiom Christmas related.

A white Christmas.

Now, this might sound a little bit strange

if somebody says I'm really hoping

for a white Christmas this year.

Don't think ill of this person.

Instead, bless their heart,

all they want is for a little snow on Christmas Day.

So to get a white Christmas means

to get snow on Christmas Day.

Now, what's the next?

Oh, to go cold turkey.

One of my favorites.

Now, this is used throughout the year

but it's Christmas related

because people in the UK apparently

eat turkey on Christmas Day.

I'm a vegan now.

But anyway, to go cold turkey mans

to give up something suddenly.

Something that you shouldn't be doing.

Like smoking those cigarettes.

So if you wanna give up cigarette,

smoking that trash,

you just say I'm gonna go cold turkey.

I'm not gonna do any of those nicotine patches.

I'm just gonna stop smoking,

that's it, just stop smoking.

To go cold turkey.

In fact, there's one time when I had to go.

We won't talk about that.

the last one can be a little bit rude

but it's a real good one

just to have up your sleeve

which is another idiom

which we won't talk about here either.

Now, to go cold turkey,

no, we just did that one.

Santa gets a little bit crazy at this time of year.

Now, if you get a present that you do not like,

you can say well, it's the thought that counts

which might upset the person that got you that present

but basically it's saying that the thought

of buying me a present

is more important than this piece of that you got me.

You know what I'm trying to say.

Someone got you something real.

You know what I'm trying to say.

Then you can just say it's the thought that counts.

It might upset them but who cares anyway?

You get to use an idiom.
